Services

Willowdale Veterinary Centers offers many services. A few include the following:

Comprehensive Physical Exams  Willowdale Veterinary Centers

Comprehensive Physical Examinations are recommended for all ages and breeds. The findings from a comprehensive physical examination play an important role in maintaining your pets' health. These findings are used by our veterinarians to establish baseline information, identify illness early, provide effective treatment, or make recommendations for your pets' continued good health.

Vaccination Protocols are created to be appropriate and specific to your individual pet's lifestyle and needs. The risks of contacting certain diseases often depend of the type of activities and environments your pet is exposed to. Every pet has different risks to consider. One vaccine protocol doesn't fit all! Our veterinarians will work with you to develop the most effective vaccination protocols to help prevent your pet from becoming ill.

Diagnostic Imaging  Diagnostic Imaging Room

Diagnostic Imaging including consistently high-quality radiographs is routinely produced and used by our veterinarians as a diagnostic tool to evaluate internal organs and bones for structure, development, and the presence of disease processes. A barium series and urography are two examples of radiology contrast studies using radio-opaque media, which are often used as diagnostic aids by our veterinarians.

Dental Care

Dental Care - Regular dental check ups and cleanings under anesthetic are critical to help maintain your pets' good health. Periodontal disease is the #1 dental problem in dogs and cats. Chronic dental disease, if left untreated, can potentially lead to serious heart, kidney, or liver problems.

Anesthesia is taken very seriously at Willowdale Veterinary Center. All anesthetic procedures are performed and directly supervised by a veterinarian. In addition, monitoring devices, pulseoximetry, Doppler, etc. are also used while a patient is anesthetized. Gas anesthetic, isoflurane, is the anesthetic most often used by our veterinarians.

Surgery is performed in a surgical suite used and designed only for sterile surgical procedures. In addition to the monitoring devices used for all anesthetic procedures, during any surgical procedure, the surgery table is covered with a warm water blanket especially designed to ensure the patient's comfort and optimum body temperature are maintained throughout the entire surgical procedure. Our hospital exceeds the AAHA highest standards of excellence for surgery.

Nursing Care - Our commitment to providing you and your pet with the highest quality pet health care is most evident in nursing care. We have at least three technicians on duty at any time. These professionals provide caring, compassionate, skilled nursing care to all patients in their respective areas of the hospital. One technician is assigned full-time to attend only to the needs of the sick hospitalized patients. Another technician is assigned full-time to attend only to the needs of the surgical/critical care hospitalized patients. The third technician is attending only to the needs of the scheduled outpatient appointments being seen by the veterinarian in the examination room.
